ATG Western Pacific Facilities Tour

The ATG Westpac Firefighting and Damage Control Training Complex in Yokosuka, Japan opened in 30 June 2003. The complex teaches basic to advanced firefighting courses. The school has 2 classrooms and six areas for burning fires. The fire school is unique in that it uses a fossil fuel system that is housed inside a big building. There are compartments and rooms similar to the trainers in the United States (i.e., berthing room, deep fat fryer, console fire, engine room). There is also a full-sized helicopter and a weapons pit. The compound has a water treatment plant to reuse the water over and over. There is also a smoke treatment plant that cleans the smoke before it goes out the stacks.
