Ring Buoy Tip 001

Inherently Buoyant Ring Buoys

Inherently buoyant ring buoys are constructed with a urethane foam core and a vinyl coated nylon cover.  A life line is attached on the outer perimeter at four different locations.  The ring buoy comes 20, 24, and 30 inch outer diameter sizes. A ¾ inch circumference retrieving line (NSN 4020-00-968-1350) shall be attached to the life line. The length of the line shall be at least equal to the freeboard of the ship. The ships name and hull number shall be marked on the ring buoy and 2 inch reflective tape (NSN 9390-01-292-6737) shall be at 90 degrees apart on both sides of the ring buoy.
