Cyalume S.O. S Light (NSN 6260-01-334-4274)

Originally it was required for COMNAVAIRFOR ships only by COMNAVAIRFOR Msg 191006Z FEB 03 to be stowed in the sea dye marker pocket.

The Cyalume S.O.S. light is no longer required; should be removed from the MK-1 life preservers; and disposed of IAW shipboard Safety/Hazmat program for all COMNAVAIRFOR ships (COMNAVAIRFOR Msg  271534Z OCT 10)

Based on the reliability of the Man Overboard Indicator (MOBI) system,  the use of the  salt water activated distress marker light, the sea dye marker, and the MK-1 auto inflator, it was concluded by COMNAVAIRFOR that the Cyalume S.O.S. light is no longer required for use.
