Shipboard Sounds

General Alarm
This alarm is sounded usually from the bridge to alert the ship to go to General Quarters. .

Chemical Alarm
This alarm is sounded usually from the bridge prior to a possible chemical attack.

This alarm is sounded usually from the bridge prior to a ship collision.

As the ship passes through a mine field it takes a hit. A large explosion is followed by water slowly rushing in and gradually building to the sounds of major flooding.

The sound of a missile firing is followed by a primary explosion and larger secondary explosions followed by fire.

The sound of a missile firing is followed by a primary explosion and larger secondary explosions followed by fire and including cries for help.

The sounds of a ship being pinged and propeller noise are followed by a large explosion and flooding. Sonar sound sets the atmosphere of a TSC tracking and engaging a submarine in battle.

The sounds of hull failure, steel creaking and collapsing are followed by flooding. These sounds can be played as investigators seek out damage after an explosion is played over the ship’s 1MC.

This sound, played from the ship’s 1MC, can be used to represent a variety of explosions from a distance.

This sound can be used to start a drill based on a variety of close weapon impacts. Combining it with hull failure or fires to assist fitting the Sounds of Damage into scenarios the ship has already practiced.

The sound of a low, possibly class Alpha, fire burning.

The sounds of a low pressure pipe rupture and water spray.

The sound of a fuel line rupturing with a pop is followed by fuel oil spray, flashing into fire, creating a roaring main space fire.
The loud background class Bravo fire can be played from more than one location simultaneously, creating the feeling of a massive fire. As fire teams attack the fire, the volume can be slowly turned down or shut off to represent the attack team getting the fire under control.

These sounds could also be used for free communications with the sea.

This is much louder than an actual Charlie fire for training purposes, enabling the DCTT when using the sounds with a blue strobe light to implement a class Charlie fire more effectively.

This can be used as a background noise after an explosion, grounding or collision at sea scenario is implemented.

Creaking sounds are followed by a pop as wood shoring gives way, followed by flooding from the sea.

The sounds of sizzling as water hits a hot fire from a fire hose or other source.
