Chemical Lights (for submarine use)
NSN 6260-01-074-4230
(Light, Chemiluminesc)

The chemical lights consist of plastic tubes filled with a yellow fluorescent compound. They are used to rig around watertight doors, hatches and down passageways to indicate egress routes in restricted lighting situations. They are also used to mark the location of vital equipment in the dark. They will provide light for approximately 3 to 12 hours and will last up to 2-2 1/2 years or longer when stored in their original packaging. The chemical lights are provided in a box of ten that weighs approximately 10 ounces. Each light is 8 inches long.
