The 7,500-volt rubber gloves are used by the DCRS electrician when working with electrical equipment, pumps, wiring, cables, casualty power, or other electrical systems during shipboard emergencies involving electrical system failure or casualties. One pair is provided in the electrical repair kit and weighs 1 pound.

The leather shell gloves are worn over the 7,500-volt rubber gloves when working on damaged equipment or systems where there is a possibility of electric current in cable or wiring or with equipment that poses a danger of tearing the rubber gloves. One pair of leather gloves are provided in the electrical repair kit and weighs 1 1/2 pounds.






One is provided with the electrical equipment tool kit.
