Leather Shell Gloves
Gloves Shell Elec)
NSN 8415-00-264-3618

The leather shell gloves are worn as protector gloves over the 7,500-volt rubber gloves when working on damaged equipment, systems where there is a possibility of electric current in cable or wiring. The leather for the body of the glove is a grain cowhide, buffed grain cowhide, grain deerskin, grain pigskin, grain horsehide, or grain goatskin. Leather must be free of cuts.  Protector gloves shall not be used if they have holes, tears, or other defects that affect their ability to give mechanical protection to the insulating gloves. Care should be exercised to keep the protector gloves as free as possible from oils, greases, chemicals, and other materials that may injure the insulating gloves. These leather shell gloves shall only be used as protective gloves over the rubber gloves.

One pair of leather gloves are provided in the electrical repair kit.
